I have been following up with a multinational company that I recently interviewed with. Every time I call, I just keep getting the voice mail. And they never return my call. What should I do?
It is hard to have your voice mails go unanswered. Unfortunately, Human Resource Managers, especially in large companies, are genuinely busy. At times, they may be recruiting for many positions at the same time.
I am sure that they are getting your calls, so why not use the voice mail to your benefit. Leave an enthusiastic message that you are checking in, and briefly review why you are still interested in the position and what you can do for the company. Be sure to bounce this off of a friend since you want to avoid under or overkill. This shouldn’t be over 30 seconds. Tell them you’ll check back in a week.
Be sure to remind them clearly of your name and phone number at the end of the message. Also, it never hurts to send them a note.
